The guides Michele Bettega and Bortolo Zagonel are considered the first and most renowned mountain guides of Primiero area. Their activity took place mainly between 1880 and 1920, with numerous new routes in the Dolomites (especially in the Pale di San Martino) some of them with their clients, wealthy people from Central Europe.
The statues were modeled in clay over a polyurethane core based on historical photos, then cast in bronze using the lost-wax method.
